Which operating systems can I install in Brussels?
The Belgium location is Linux-only. You can choose from current and older releases of Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS 7 or CentOS Stream, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux, and other distributions are available on request. Because each server is a full KVM virtual machine, you can also upload a custom ISO if you need a less common distribution. Windows Server is not offered at this location; if your application requires Windows, our support team can suggest a nearby location, such as Luxembourg or the Netherlands, where Windows plans are available.
How soon will my Belgian server be online?
Expect your Brussels server within a window of three to twenty-four hours from payment, often sooner. You receive an email containing the IP address, root password and client-area details. If you chose a control panel at checkout, it will be installed and ready to configure. The server is unmanaged, so you can start installing software immediately. Orders placed outside business hours are still processed, as provisioning runs throughout the week, including weekends and public holidays in Belgium. Your welcome email also explains how to reach the rescue console.
Does my IP geolocate to Brussels?
Yes. The addresses we assign are part of a Belgian range and are listed in Brussels by the main geolocation services. That helps search engines associate your site with Belgium, and lets you test how Belgian banking, government and streaming services behave for local users. Databases update on their own schedule, so a newly allocated address may take a little time to be recognised everywhere. If you spot an incorrect listing, support can submit a correction request on your behalf to the provider concerned.
Can I host sites in Dutch, French and German on one VPS?
Yes. Belgium's three official languages make multilingual sites common, and a single VPS can host them all. You can run one site with language subfolders or separate domains for each audience, each with its own SSL certificate. Use hreflang tags to tell search engines which version belongs to which language. Web servers such as Nginx and Apache handle this through virtual hosts, and panels like cPanel or DirectAdmin make the setup straightforward if you prefer a graphical interface. Separate PHP pools per site keep one language version's traffic spikes from slowing the others.
Is a Brussels server suitable for GDPR-sensitive data?
Hosting in Belgium keeps personal data inside the European Union, which simplifies compliance with GDPR and with contracts that require EU storage. The physical security and redundancy of a Tier III facility help protect that data. However, compliance also depends on how you configure the server, who can access it and how you handle backups and encryption. We recommend enabling full-disk or database encryption where appropriate, restricting SSH access and documenting your processing activities, since the server itself is unmanaged.
What does technical support cover in Brussels?
Support covers everything outside your virtual machine: hardware replacement, hard reboots when a server stops responding, operating-system reinstalls and network investigations at the data centre. Tickets are handled around the clock. Inside the VM, you manage software, updates and configuration, which keeps prices low and gives you full control. If you are stuck, our engineers will still offer guidance and point you to the right documentation, even when the issue is not strictly part of the infrastructure. Include your server's IP and a short description of the problem to speed things up.
Can I add extra IPv4 addresses?
Yes, additional Belgian IPv4 addresses can be requested when ordering or later from the client area, subject to availability. They are useful for hosting several SSL sites with dedicated IPs, separating mail traffic from web traffic, or running containers that each need a public address. Because IPv4 space is limited, justification may occasionally be requested for larger blocks. IPv6 is also available on request, which is increasingly useful for reaching mobile users on networks that prefer it. Reverse DNS can be set for each address as well.
What happens when I upgrade to a bigger plan?
Upgrading adds CPU cores, RAM and NVMe space to your existing server. Your data, configuration and IP address stay exactly as they are, so nothing needs to be migrated and DNS records remain unchanged. A short reboot is normally needed to apply the extra resources, and we can schedule it for a quiet time if required. This makes it easy to start on a smaller plan, measure real usage and then scale up when your traffic or workload justifies it.
