Can I sign documents on eGov.kz with my ЭЦП from the desktop?
Yes. Install NCALayer on the Almaty desktop and copy your ЭЦП key files there, protected by their password, or use a key stored on a token with smart card redirection enabled in the Remote Desktop client. eGov.kz will then recognise your signature for logging in and signing requests. Many services also accept SMS confirmation via your registered Kazakh number. Kazakhs abroad use the desktop to obtain certificates of no criminal record, address certificates and tax statements, and to apply for document renewals. Remember that ЭЦП keys expire and must be renewed through the National Certification Centre, which can often be done online.
Will Kaspi and Halyk work from the desktop?
Kaspi is primarily an app, but Kaspi.kz's web version and Kaspi Pay merchant tools can be used in the desktop's browser, as can Halyk Homebank, ForteBank and Freedom Bank online banking. Confirmations are sent to your Kazakh phone number or app, so keep these available. The Kazakh IP reduces the restrictions sometimes applied to foreign connections. Merchants selling on the Kaspi marketplace manage orders and pricing from the desktop, and individuals pay bills and transfer money. Sellers who live abroad and employ a manager in Almaty can give that person a separate login on the same desktop so both see orders and stock in real time.
Can an ИП file taxes from the Almaty desktop?
Yes. Individual entrepreneurs submit form 910 under the simplified regime, pay social contributions and pension payments, and issue electronic invoices through the ESF system from the desktop. The Cabinet of the Taxpayer and ESF portal accept your ЭЦП through NCALayer. Keeping these tools and documents on a stable Kazakh desktop avoids problems with foreign connections and lets your accountant help through a separate login. Deadlines are strict, so having reliable access matters. Contributions to the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (ENPF) and social insurance can be checked from the same session, which helps when applying for loans or visas.
Can my firm host 1C for Kazakh clients here?
Yes. 1C:Enterprise for Kazakhstan, including accounting and payroll configurations, runs well on Windows Server with NVMe storage. Accountants connect through the 1C client and can work from anywhere. For one or two users, four cores and 8 GB are typically enough; for larger teams or databases, choose ten cores or more. Regular backups of infobases are essential, and 1C licences should be configured for the server environment. Firms often keep a separate infobase per client and give each accountant access only to the bases they handle, which keeps confidential data properly separated and makes it easy to onboard new staff during busy reporting periods.
Can logistics companies use the desktop for customs declarations?
Yes. Freight forwarders and customs brokers use the ASTANA-1 customs system and related portals through the desktop, signing declarations with their ЭЦП. Staff in Almaty, at border crossings like Khorgos and in partner countries can access the same environment. NVMe storage and unmetered traffic help when exchanging large shipping documents with partners in China and Europe. Exporters of grain, metals and oil equipment, and importers of Chinese goods for the Eurasian Economic Union market, keep their declarations, certificates of origin and transit documents in shared folders. Brokers at Khorgos and Dostyk can access the same files as the head office in Almaty, which reduces delays at the border.
Can I type in Kazakh and Russian on the desktop?
Yes. Both Kazakh and Russian Cyrillic layouts live happily on the same machine, swapped with a keystroke. The Kazakh layout includes letters such as ә, ғ, қ, ң, ө, ұ, ү, һ and і. The interface can be set to Russian or Kazakh per user. As Kazakhstan transitions to the Latin alphabet, a Latin-based Kazakh layout can also be installed where needed. Office proofing for Russian is widely available, and regional settings can display tenge amounts and Kazakh date formats correctly on invoices and reports. Uzbek and Kyrgyz layouts can be added too.
Can relocated specialists manage Russian and Kazakh affairs together?
Many people who moved to Almaty or Astana in recent years keep obligations in both countries: a Kazakh ИП or ТОО for their current work, plus Russian bank accounts, property and documents. A Kazakh desktop provides a stable environment for Kazakh tax filings, eGov.kz and Kazakh banking, and you can pair it with our Moscow desktop for Russian services if needed. Keeping the two separate helps with record keeping and makes it clear which jurisdiction each document belongs to. Make sure you understand the tax residency rules of both countries, and comply with any sanctions or legal restrictions that apply to you.
Is Almaty a good base for Central Asian teams?
Yes. Almaty sits close to Bishkek and Tashkent and has strong links to Astana, Shymkent and the western oil regions, so teams spread across Central Asia can share a single desktop with low latency. Companies serving Kyrgyz and Uzbek markets often run their regional accounting and CRM from Almaty because of its banking infrastructure, English- and Russian-speaking workforce and position on the China–Europe transit corridor. A Kazakh IP suits Kazakh services; for portals in neighbouring countries that require local addresses, pair it with desktops there. The Astana International Financial Centre, with its English common-law framework, also attracts firms that want a regional legal base, and a desktop in Kazakhstan fits naturally alongside it.
