Why would I need a 10 Gbps network for a VPS?
Most websites never saturate a 1 Gbps port, but some workloads benefit enormously from more headroom. Video platforms, software distribution, large backup transfers and data replication between offices or data centres can all finish much faster over a 10 Gbps network. Even ordinary sites gain resilience, since a sudden spike in visitors is less likely to congest the connection. The network is shared between servers on the host, so real-world throughput depends on activity, but the ceiling is far higher than on a typical budget VPS.
Is Luxembourg a good single location for serving France, Belgium and Germany?
Very much so. The Grand Duchy borders all three, and requests from Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt or Strasbourg usually complete in a handful of milliseconds. That is why so many companies choose it as their EU base: one server can serve French-, German- and Dutch-speaking customers with near-identical performance. Mark each version with hreflang so Google sends francophone and germanophone visitors to their own pages. If you also have users in Spain, Scandinavia or further away, put static assets on a CDN and keep application logic and customer data in Luxembourg.
Can I host an investor or client portal for a fund administrator?
Yes. Fund administrators, management companies and professional-services firms in Luxembourg often need secure portals for sharing reports with investors. Middle-tier plans carry most portals, and NVMe keeps searches through years of reports quick. Encrypt stored documents, require two-factor authentication, restrict administrative access and keep audit logs. Hosting in Luxembourg keeps data within the jurisdiction many clients expect. Because the server is unmanaged, your IT team or provider controls these measures and can document them for regulators. Investors logging in from Geneva, London or Frankfurt all reach the portal quickly.
Does every server get its own IPv4 address?
Yes, and it is never shared with another customer, so your email reputation and blacklisting status depend only on how you use it. The address comes from a Luxembourg range, which matters for companies that must show clients where their services run. IPv6 can be added for native reach to newer networks. When a second fund, brand or legal entity needs its own address, request more at checkout or through the client area, subject to what remains in the pool, and we will set matching reverse DNS entries so outgoing mail passes provider checks.
Can I build a portal for cross-border workers and HR teams?
Yes. Around half of Luxembourg's workforce commutes daily from France, Belgium and Germany, so HR portals, payroll self-service and scheduling tools often need to serve users in three countries and several languages. A Grand Duchy server reaches all of those commuters over short routes, whether they log in from Thionville, Arlon or Trier. Run the application on a mid-tier plan, keep personal data encrypted at rest, and offer French, German and English interfaces. Staff checking payslips on their phones before the morning drive will appreciate how quickly pages open.
Is Luxembourg a sensible EU base for a company from outside Europe?
Many American, Asian and British firms establish their European subsidiary in the Grand Duchy, and hosting the customer-facing platform there keeps infrastructure aligned with that legal presence. Data stays inside the EU, which simplifies conversations with European clients about GDPR and data transfers. Latency to the main Western European markets is low, and the 10 Gbps shared network leaves room for growth. Pair the Luxembourg server with a CDN for global static content, and keep a second instance at home for your domestic users if you need both.
Is the DDoS protection included in the price?
It is part of every Luxembourg plan, with nothing extra to pay and nothing to switch on. Traffic entering the network is analysed continuously, and volumetric floods are scrubbed upstream so they never fill your port, while genuine visitors keep getting through. That matters for financial portals during reporting deadlines and for media sites covering sensitive stories. Floods that imitate real users, such as scripted logins, are better tackled inside your own server with request limits and captchas. Should something slip past the filters, our network engineers will examine the traffic with you.
Who handles problems if my server stops responding?
Our team owns the layer beneath your operating system. A frozen guest is restarted from the hypervisor, a failing disk or memory module is swapped, a rebuild is carried out when you ask for one, and suspicious network behaviour is investigated with the facility and its carriers. What runs inside the VM, from application code to patches and user rights, stays with you, which is what keeps the service unmanaged and affordable. Tickets are staffed day and night, and whenever we can see something useful from the host side, such as resource exhaustion, we pass it on.
